Brandi Burkhardt Headed for Broadway's Mamma Mia!

Brandi Burkhardt, who made her Broadway debut in A Tale of Two Cities, has been tapped to play bride-to-be Sophie Sheridan in the Broadway production of Mamma Mia!. Burkhardt will give her first performance in the hit musical on January 27 at the Winter Garden Theatre, replacing Allison Case, who departs on January 25.

Burkhardt created the role of Lucie Manette in A Tale of Two Cities and starred as Daisy Mae in Lil’ Abner for the Los Angeles Reprise series and as Emma in the international touring production of Jekyll & Hyde: Resurrection. Her screen credits include playing Siren the mermaid in Passions and the upcoming feature film Confessions of a Shopaholic. She has sung with numerous orchestras and was the only American featured in the recording of The Count of Monte Cristo as Mercedes. Burkhardt discussed her background, including her stint as Miss New York, in a Fresh Face interview with Broadway.com.

The cast of Mamma Mia! currently includes Carolee Carmello as Donna Sheridan, Judy McLane as Tanya, Gina Ferrall as Rosie, Chris Peluso as Sky, Sean Allan Krill as Sam, Pearce Bunting as Bill, Ben Livingston as Harry Bright, Ben Gettinger as Pepper, Samantha Eggers as Lisa, Amina Robinson as Ali and Raymond J. Lee as Eddie.

The ensemble features Brent Black, Timothy Booth, Allyson Carr, Lanene Charters, Meghan Dreyfuss, Matthew Farver, Lori Haley Fox, Heidi Godt, Jon-Erik Goldberg, Frankie James Grande, Corey Greenan, Bryan Scott Johnson, Monica Kapoor, Robin Levine, Corinne Melançon, Ian Paget, Courtney Reed, Ryan Sander, Collette Simmons, Traci Victoria and Leah Zepel.
