The Goodman’s 2009-2010 season will also feature the world premiere this year of Rebecca Gilman's A True History of the Johnstown Flood as well as Joan D'Arc, a co-production with Austria's Linz Festival by artist Aida Karic and Tanya Palmer, a spin on Friedrich Schiller's great romantic tragedy The Maiden of Orleans and High Holidays, Alan Gross' darkly comic look at coming of age in suburban Chicago in the early 1960s, and Brett C. Leonard's The Long Red Road, directed by Oscar winner Philip Seymour Hoffman. The schedule also includes the Marx Brothers musical comedy Animal Crackers, directed by henry Wishcamper, which begins in September. The season concludes in June 2010 with Karen Zicharias’ The Sins of Sor Juana, which kicks off the fifth biennial international Latino Theatre Festival.
An additional spring 2010 production, directed by Chuck Smith, has yet to be announced.
