Two-time Tony winner Bebe Neuwirth married Chris Calkins, founder of Napa Valley's Destino Vineyard, on May 4 in New York City. The ceremony at the Players Club was performed by the couple's friend, actor Peter Coyote.
Neuwirth, who won Tonys for her performances in Sweet Charity in 1986 and Chicago in 1997, is a stage regular who is widely known for her two-time Emmy-winning performance in the role of Dr. Lilith Sternin-Crane on TV’s Cheers and Frasier. She made her Broadway debut in 1980 as Sheila in A Chorus Line and also performed on Broadway in Dancin’, Little Me, Damn Yankees and Fosse. Neuwirth played both Velma Kelly and Roxie Hart in Chicago, a show to which she has returned for multiple stints. Her off-Broadway credits include Here Lies Jenny, Writer's Block and The Exonerated. Neuwirth is expected to return to Broadway in the upcoming musical version of The Addams Family. Her film credits include Celebrity, Green Card, Bugsy, Say Anything, Jumanji, Summer of Sam, The Associate, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, The Big Bounce and The Faculty, Adopt a Sailor and Tadpole. The actress was previously married to Paul Dorran from 1984 to 1991.
The newlyweds are currently on their honeymoon.
