London, Australia, New York, Chicago—Billy Elliot has been all over the world, and now the Tony-winning hit is gearing up to put another stamp on its passport. This time, Billy is headed for South Korea, where the electrifying musical will showcase four new Billy boys: Jin-Ho Jung, Ji-Myeong Lee, Sunu Lim and Se-Yong Kim. As rehearsals get ready to kick-off, the leading quartet did some research on their starring roles by checking out the Broadway production of the show on April 7, where they got an up-close-and-personal encounter with the tuner they’ll soon call home. Their homework continued when they met up with fellow hot-footed leading men Liam Redhead, Alex Ko, Dayton Tavares and Jacob Clemente backstage, who were happy to give words of encouragement to their Korean counterparts. The meeting was short—the new Billys are Chicago-bound to meet with award-winning director Stephen Daldry before making their way to Korea—but effective, with all eight stars feeling doubly excited about their next time on stage.
