The first two previews of The Blue Flower, starring Broadway favorites Teal Wicks, Sebastian Arcelus and Marc Kudisch, have been canceled at off-Broadway’s Second Stage Theatre. Rather than the previously scheduled start date of October 12, the musical will give its first performance on October 14. Opening night of the show, created by Jim and Ruth Bauer and directed by Will Pomerantz, remains set for November 9.
"The first two previews of The Blue Flower have been canceled to accommodate additional technical rehearsal for the production's many multimedia elements,” said a production spokesperson in a statement. “All ticket holders for the canceled previews will be accommodated at another performance."
Spanning two continents and half a century, The Blue Flower explores the romantic and tumultuous relationships between four young friends—three artists and a scientist—as they create a world of art, revolution, and passion amidst the turbulence and destruction of the World Wars. The cast also features Meghan McGeary, Joseph Medeiros, Julia Osborne, Graham Rowat and Aaron Serotsky.
