New York may be heading towards winter, but the off-Broadway boards were heating up with the premiere of Thomas Bradshaw’s Burning, which bowed at the Acorn Theatre at Theatre Row on November 14. The New Group production, helmed by artistic director Scott Elliott, weaves together multiple plotlines, from a story of show people in 1980s New York to modern day neo-Nazis in Berlin. Once the company took their opening night bows, Broadway vets Hunter Foster and Danny Mastrogiorgio and their ensemble cast joined Bradshaw, Elliot and New Group supporters at nearby nightspot Qi to officially usher in this envelope-pushing play.
