Laura Benanti, Norbert Leo Butz, Megan Hilty & More to Headline MCC's Miscast 2012 Gala

Tony winners Laura Benanti, Norbert Leo Butz and Nikki M. James, Smash stars Megan Hilty and Christian Borle and Broadway veteran Steven Pasquale are among the stars slated to perform at Miscast 2012, MCC’s annual gala featuring actors performing songs from roles in which they would never be cast. The stars join previously announced performer Jonathan Groff. Hosted by comedian Lewis Black, the event will take place on March 26 at the Hammerstein Ballroom.

Miscast 2012 will honor the creators of MCC's upcoming production of Carrie, including Academy Award-winning composer Michael Gore, Academy Award-winning lyricist Dean Pitchford and book writer Lawrence D. Cohen.

Last year, Miscast 2011 celebrated MCC’s 25th Anniversary season and honored a collection of MCC Theater alumni including Charles Busch, Norbert Leo Butz, Kathleen Chalfant, T.R. Knight, Swoosie Kurtz, Neil LaBute, Melissa Leo, Judith Light, Joe Mantello, Amanda Peet, Liev Schreiber and Marisa Tomei. The evening was hosted by Bravo TV’s Andy Cohen.
