Casting is complete for the upcoming Broadway production of Arthur Miller’s Death of a Salesman. As previously announced the production will star Oscar winner Philip Seymour Hoffman as Willy Loman, Linda Emond as Linda Loman and Andrew Garfield as Biff Loman. Directed by Mike Nichols, performances for the limited 16-week engagement begin at the Barrymore Theatre on February 13, 2012, with an offical opening set for March 15.
The complete cast includes Remy Auberjonois (Asuncion) as Howard Wagner, Kathleen McNenny (Coram Boy) as Jenny, Elizabeth Morton as Letta and Molly Price (TV's Third Watch) as the Woman. They join the previously announced cast members Finn Wittrock as Happy, Fran Kranz as Bernard, Bill Camp as Charley, John Glover as Ben, Glenn Fleshler as Stanley and Stephanie Janssen as Miss Forsythe.
Death of a Salesman, Miller’s 1949 Pulitzer Prize-winning play, concerns Willy Loman (Hoffman) an aging traveling salesman coming to terms with the emptiness of his life. Willy had great dreams for his oldest son, Biff (Garfield), a former high school football star who has not lived up to his father’s expectations.
The production will feature set design by Jo Mielziner, costume design by Ann Roth, lighting design by Brian MacDevitt and sound design by Scott Lehrer.
