Ready those iPods, Broadway fans. In honor of Tony-nominated diva Sherie Rene Scott’s big Broadway return in the new musical pseudo-biography Everyday Rapture, Broadway.com is offering a free download of the show’s powerhouse original cast recording (which won't be in stores until June on Sh-K-Boom Records) exclusively to ticket buyers!
In addition to Scott, Everyday Rapture’s album features cast members Betsey Wolfe and Lindsay Mendez and showstoppers like “Elevation,” “Get Happy,” “I Guess the Lord Must Be in New York City,” “Life Line,” “Why,” The Weight," "Up the Ladder to the Roof" and “Won’t You Be My Neighbor,” as well as the bonus tracks “Remember” and “Give Me Love (Give Me Peace on Earth).”
Everyday Rapture is described as the story of a young woman’s psycho-sexual-spiritual journey on the rocky path that separates her mostly Mennonite past from her mostly Manhattan future. Her life takes her from the cornfields of Kansas to the clover fields of New York with a disturbing detour through YouTube. The show includes songs made famous by David Byrne, George Harrison, U2, The Dap Kings and Judy Garland. Everyday Rapture opened at the American Airlines Theatre on April 29, 2010.
