As Broadway's new batch of spring shows begin performances in the coming weeks, Broadway.com asked readers which leading man they are most excited to see take the stage The results are in, and three handsome and talented stars from musicals topped the list. Take a look at the results below!
1. Ricky Martin (Evita) - 35%
Ricky Martin leads the first Broadway revival of Evita, which begins performances March 12 at the Marquis Theatre, as Che. He previously appeared on Broadway in 1996 as the dreamy student Marius in Les Miserables. Martin is best known for “livin la vida loca” as a Grammy Award-winning international pop sensation.
2. Jeremy Jordan (Newsies) - 24%
Jeremy Jordan has had quite the year. In addition to co-headlining Broadway's Bonnie & Clyde and making his film debut in Joyful Noise, the actor will now reprise his turn as Jack Kelly as Newsies makes its way to Broadway, following its initial run at the Paper Mill Playhouse. Performances for the anticipated musical begin March 15 at the Nederlander Theatre.
3. Raúl Esparza (Leap of Faith) - 7%
Tony nominee Raúl Esparza is a Broadway favorite having starred in Company, Arcadia, The Homecoming, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Taboo and The Rocky Horror Show. Esparza returns to Broadway as con artist Jonas Nightingale in the new musical Leap of Faith. He begins taking converts April 3 at the St. James Theatre.
