West End vets Siobhan Dillon and Mark Evans will take over the leading roles of Molly and Sam in the Matthew Warchus-helmed musical Ghost at London’s Piccadilly Theatre beginning January 13, 2012. They will replace original stars Caissie Levy and Richard Fleeshman, who have been tapped to star the show’s forthcoming Broadway production.
Ghost is based on the 1990 film starring Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore and Whoopi Goldberg. Walking back to their apartment one night, Sam and Molly are mugged, and Sam is murdered on a dark street. With the help of a phony storefront psychic, Oda Mae Brown, Sam tries to communicate with Molly in the hope of saving and protecting her.
Dillon, a finalist in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s reality TV show How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria, went on to star in the West End productions of Grease and Legally Blonde, and Ex The Musical, currently running at the Soho Theatre.
