Kyle Riabko, Ace Young and Diana DeGarmo Are Hair's New Headliners; Complete Cast Announced

Spring Awakening alum Kyle Riabko and American Idol and Broadway vets Ace Young and Diana DeGarmo have signed on to play Claude, Berger and Sheila in the Tony-winning Broadway revival of Hair. The new stars are set to replace Gavin Creel, Will Swenson and Caissie Levy, who will transfer with most of the original Broadway cast to London’s Gielgud Theatre beginning April 1.

Other featured players in the new company include Annaleigh Ashford (as Jeanie), Jeannette Bayardelle (Dionne), Vanessa Ray (Crissy, a role she has played since 2009), Wallace Smith (Hud) and Jason Wooten (Woof).

New cast members Justin Badger, Nicholas Belton, Larkin Bogan, Natalie Bradshaw, Catherine Brookman, Antwayn Hopper, Mykal Kilgore, Anastacia McClesky, Armender Robinson, Kate Rockwell, Cailan Rose, Rashidra Scott, Jen Sese, Lawrence Stallings, Terrance Thomas, Emma Zaks and Lee Zarrett will join current players Brianna Carlson-Goodman, Rachel Bay Jones (Mom), Jay Armstrong Johnson, Josh Lamon (Margaret Mead/Dad), Nicole Lewis and Paris Remillard as members of the show's Tribe.

Additionally, Rent vet Luther Creek was announced as the London production's Woof (rather than Bryce Ryness) and Crystal Joy will be a Tribe member in the London production.

Riabko starred as Melchior Gabor in the Broadway and touring casts of Spring Awakening. The Canadian-born singer/songwriter has toured extensively with such artists as John Mayer, Maroon 5 and B.B. King and released a solo album, Before I Speak.

Young made his Broadway debut as Kenickie in Grease and went on to play Danny Zuko in the show’s national tour. He finished seventh in season five of American Idol and later co-wrote Daughtry’s Grammy-nominated debut single “It’s Not Over.”

DeGarmo recently starred in the off-Broadway musical The Toxic Avenger. Since placing second to Fantasia Barrino on the third season of American Idol, she has appeared on Broadway in Hairspray and in the first national tours of Brooklyn: The Musical and OZ, The Musical. She also performed in Back to Bacharach in Los Angeles.

The new cast of Hair will debut at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre on March 9, 2010.
