As birthday celebrations go, the cast and creators of Jersey Boys, which opened at the August Wilson Theatre on November 6, 2005, had quite a weekend: Following the Empire State building lighting ceremony, the company kicked into high gear on Sunday, November 7. Before the matinee performance, original Four Seasons Frankie Valli and Bob Gaudio were on hand to see a section of 52nd Street renamed “Jersey Boys Walk.” After the show, Valli and Gaudio joined the cast onstage for a mayoral proclamation saluting Jersey Boys for its smash-hit five year run. Then it was off to the Empire Hotel for a private celebration with the entire company, including spouses, dates and kids. (Don’t worry: Broadway.com got one of the coveted invitations.)
