It’s big news around Broadway that Harvey Fierstein is headed into the hit revival of La Cage aux Folles, the show that earned him a Best Book Tony Award way back in 1984. On January 27, Harvey and his new Georges, Emmy nominee Jeffrey Tambor, took time away from rehearsal to preview their stage partnership at a meet-and-greet at Hurley’s, the saloon located right next door to the Longacre Theatre. Also on hand were Tony winner Wilson Jermaine Heredia, who’ll play sassy maid Jacob, and the production’s Tony-winning director, Terry Johnson. Fierstein, Tambor & Heredia are set to join the musical on February 15. Click on to hear more about how this casting coup came together.
