Little Britain's Matt Lucas, opera tenor Alfie Boe and Hadley Fraser will join the West End cast of Les Miserables on June 23 at the Queen's Theatre. Lucas will take on the role of Thenardier, Boe will play Jean Valjean and Fraser will play Javert. Lucas will remain with the production through September 10, and Boe will continue through November 26.
Lucas has appeared on both the UK and US incarnations of popular sketch series Little Britain. His film credits include Gnomeo & Juliet, Alice in Wonderland and Shaun of the Dead. He appeared on the London stage in Prick Up Your Ears.
Boe is known for his solo career which includes albums Bring Him Home and La Passione. He appeared on Broadway in Baz Luhrman's production of La Boheme. His other opera and theater credits include Romeo and Juliet, La Traviata and The Merry Widow.
Fraser recently appeared on the West End in The Fantasticks. His film and TV credits include Doctor Who, The Fresh Beat Band and The Lost Tribe.
Directed by Trevor Nunn and featuring music by Claude-Michel Schonberg and lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer, Les Miserables recently celebrated its 25th anniversary.
