Tony-Winning Musical Memphis Welcomes Over 1000 NYC Students to Broadway

Over 1000 students from New York City’s public schools were in for a special treat when they were invited to see Broadway's Memphis on February 3. Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and the Tony Awards partnered with watchmaker Audemars Piguet to create the initiative, called “Inspire Change,” that brought students from 11 schools in all five boroughs to the rockin’ musical. But the students weren’t the only ones in for a treat. They surprised the cast by dancing on the stage and in the aisles for the show’s finale number, "Steal Your Rock 'N' Roll," complete with lyrics and choreography.
