Memphis, the 2010 Tony Award-winner for Best Musical, will soon be seen on the big screen! The musical will show on 530 screens nationwide during an exclusive run on April 28 & 30 and May 3 at 7:30PM, and a special matinee on May 1 at 12:30PM.
As previously announced, the original Broadway cast of Memphis was captured live in performance from January 18 to January 21 at the Shubert Theatre, using multiple high definition cameras and 96 tracks of sound recording for this special Fathom event presentation. Memphis boasts a juicy storyline of a white deejay who begins a dangerous love affair with a beautiful African-American singer in the 1950s South—not to mention a rocking, Tony-winning score by Bon Jovi's David Bryan and Joe DiPietro, and starring Tony nominees Chad Kimball as Huey and Montego Glover as his true love, Felicia Farrell.
In addition to the musical itself, movie audiences will be treated to an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the show. For a complete list of theater locations, prices and additional information, visit the NCM Fathom website, and for a sneak peek at this Memphis movie, click on below!
