The West End went back in time on March 7 when it welcomed the London production of Million Dollar Quartet to the Noel Coward Theatre. Starring real-life music talents Ben Goddard as Jerry Lee Lewis, Derek Hagen as Johnny Cash, Michael Malarkey as Elvis Presley and Broadway vet Robert Britton Lyons as Carl Perkins, the rockabilly tuner is inspired by the famed December 4, 1956, recording session that brought these rock icons together at Sun Records. After tearing up the stage on numbers like “Blue Suede Shoes,” “Great Balls of Fire” and “Folsom Prison Blues,” this talented bunch, joined by Francesca Jackson as Dyanne and Bill Ward as Sun Records producer Sam Phillips, took a well-earned opening night bow.
