Don't let the title fool you: The November 14 off-Broadway opening of Craig Wright’s Mistakes Were Made went off without a hitch. Star Michael Shannon was in rare form as shameless theater producer Felix Artifex, determined to get a show about the French Revolution (called, you guessed it, Mistakes Were Made) on the boards at all costs. Theater denizens of a much more respectable sort were there to cheer Shannon on in his tour de force performance, aided by Mierka Girten as his assistant and Sam Deutsch as the puppeteer behind the lead character's beloved fish (don't ask). Broadway.com joined the stars and supporters downtown at the Barrow Street Theatre to capture this opening night.
