Story
Silver Wells, an evening based on the newly released album of the same name, covers songs made famous by Ronee Blakley, Kate Bush, Leonard Cohen, Tracy Chapman, Joni Mitchell, Mark Eitzel and Brecht & Weill, among others. Silver Wells is inspired by, and takes it name from, Joan Didion’s 1970 novel Play It As It Lays. In the show, Bond chooses a group of songs that allow V to cover the book’s themes of nihilism, postmodernist identities, loss and the retrieval of memory.
