Pistachio, Please! Magnolia Bakery Launches Priscilla Cupcake

The lyrics of “MacArthur Park” have never made any sense, but that famous cake that someone left out in the rain has morphed into a brand new Magnolia Bakery cupcake honoring the Broadway musical Priscilla Queen of the Desert. On March 8, Magnolia introduced “the Priscilla Cupcake,” inspired by Oscar-winning designers Tim Chappel and Lizzy Gardiner’s dancing cupcake costumes for the show’s “MacArthur Park” number.

The Priscilla-theme confection is a pistachio cupcake with pistachio meringue buttercream icing, topped with a meringue kiss, edible confetti and iridescent “disco dust.” The cupcake will be available at all Magnolia locations.

Priscilla Queen of the Desert is currently in previews at the Palace Theatre, with opening night set for March 20.
