Promises, Promises star Kristin Chenoweth will extend her run as Fran Kubelik through December 26, when she and co-star Sean Hayes, who plays Chuck Baxter, will give their final performances in the hit musical revival. Chenoweth was originally set to leave the show on September 26; Hayes had not announced a departure date. Promises, Promises opened on April 25 at the Broadway Theatre, directed and choreographed by Rob Ashford. No replacements for Chenoweth and Hayes have been announced.
Promises, Promises has been doing sellout business, regularly grossing more than $1 million a week at the Broadway Theatre. The show received four Tony Award nominations, including Best Featured Actress winner Katie Finneran. In addition to Chenoweth, Hayes and Finneran, the cast includes Tony Goldwyn as J.D. Sheldrake, Dick Latessa as Dr. Dreyfuss, Brooks Ashmanskas as Mr. Dobitch, Helen Anker as Miss Olson, Peter Benson as Mr. Kirkeby, Seán Martin Hingston as Mr. Eichelberger and Ken Land as Jesse Vanderhof. Completing the cast are Cameron Adams, Ashley Amber, Wendi Bergamini, Nikki Renee Daniels, Sarah Jane Everman, Chelsea Krombach, Keith Kuhl, Ian Liberto, Matt Loehr, Mayumi Miguel, Brian O'Brien, Sarah O'Gleby, Adam Perry, Megan Sikora, Matt Wall, Ryan Watkinson and Kristen Beth Williams.
Chenoweth will also reprise her role of April Rhodes on TV's Glee, for which she recently received an Emmy nomination, when the show's second season begins this fall.
