Seminar, Starring Alan Rickman, in Talks to Hit the West End

Two-time Tony nominee Alan Rickman may still be serving up witty lessons to his students in Seminar on Broadway, but he’s already in talks to star in a West End production of Theresa Rebeck's comedy this fall, reports the U.K.'s Daily Mail. While producer David Ian hopes to transfer the show to London, he said he will only do so if Rickman reprises his role as the insult-slinging writing professor Leonard.

Seminar opened on Broadway on November 20, 2011 at the John Golden Theatre. In addition to Rickman, the production stars Lily Rabe, Hamish Linklater, Jerry O’Connell and Hettienne Park. Directed by Sam Gold, Seminar follows Leonard (Rickman) as he teaches a private literary class to a group of four young writers.

Rickman garnered Tony nominations for Private Lives and Les Liaisons Dangereuses. Best known for playing Professor Severus Snape in the Harry Potter films, Rickman has also appeared on film in Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Die Hard, Michael Collins and Dogma.
