Film actor Justin Long will make his Broadway debut in Theresa Rebeck’s Seminar. Long will assume the role of Martin (currently portrayed by Hamish Linklater) alongside previously announced new star Jeff Goldblum beginning April 3 at the Golden Theatre. Linklater and current star Alan Rickman will play their final performances on April 1.
Seminar opened on Broadway on November 20, 2011. Directed by Sam Gold, Seminar follows Leonard (Goldblum) as he teaches a private literary class to a group of four young writers (including Long). No word yet if fellow students and original cast members Lily Rabe, Jerry O’Connell and Hettienne Park will continue with the production.
Long's film credits include Drag Me to Hell, Live Free or Die Hard, He’s Just Not That Into You, Zack and Miri Make a Porno, Going the Distance, Funny People, Galaxy Quest and Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story. He appeared on the small screen in Ed and the new FOX sitcom New Girl. Though this marks his New York debut, Long performed for three summers at Williamstown Theatre Festival.
