The Broadway Theatre rang with heavenly voices on April 20 when soulful musical Sister Act opened on the Great White Way. Patina Miller led the high-spirited cast as Deloris Van Cartier, a diva in the making who dons a habit and hides out in a convent after seeing her gangster boyfriend commit a murder, and brings her special brand of disco sparkle to the convent choir. On the red carpet, Broadway.com caught up with stars like show’s producer—and headliner of the its 1992 namesake film—Whoopi Goldberg. Post-show, the nuns exchanged habits for their opening night finest, and we chatted with stars Miller, Victoria Clark and more at their Gotham Hall bash.
