Donald Margulies’ Tony-nominated drama Time Stands Still will close at Broadway’s Cort Theatre on January 30, 2011. The production, which stars Laura Linney, Brian d’Arcy James, Eric Bogosian, and Christina Ricci, will have played 16 previews and 126 regular performances, directed by Daniel Sullivan.
Time Stands Still debuted in January 2010 at Manhattan Theatre Club’s Samuel J. Friedman Theatre with Linney, James, Bogosian and Alicia Silverstone in the cast. After the initial limited engagement, which garnered Tony nominations for Best Play and for Linney's lead performance, a commercial run was announced. Previews for the second production at the Cort began on September 23, with opening night on October 7.
Margulies' drama follows Sarah and James (Linney and James), a photojournalist and a foreign correspondent trying to find happiness in a world that seems to have gone crazy. When the couple return home to Brooklyn after an accident in a war zone, they must confront the prospect of a more conventional life.
