The term “romantic comedy” gets a reboot in Venus in Fur, the new play by David Ives in which Nina Arianda goes head to head—professionally and personally—with Hugh Dancy. Arianda plays Vanda, a young actress who arrives to audition for a sexy costume drama carrying a bag filled with suggestive props, much to the amazement of Dancy as a playwright/director named Thomas. Broadway.com sent Word of Mouth reviewers Kean, Jill and Scott to Manhattan Theatre Club's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre to check out this provocative play.
