She’s been a Hair hippie and a Rock of Ages stripper and is now a high-flying Wicked witch on Broadway, but Jackie Burns isn’t your typical musical theater actress. The bubbly, big-belting Burns stopped by Show People with Paul Wontorek to share the roundabout route that got her to the Great White Way. Stops include: Working at Tokyo Disney, step-touching for old people on a cruise ship and moving to Australia with someone she met on Mt. Fuji. Even her college days are a delight, where she learned things like flip cup, beer pong and why she’s “the ugliest blonde you’ve ever seen.” The ever-candid Burns also dishes on her engagement to fellow Broadway vet John Selya, why Ghost star Caissie Levy is her “black swan,” and how she avoided getting naked in Hair.
