So You Think You Can Dance's Will Wingfield Joins In the Heights; Burns Returns

Will Wingfield of So You Think You Can Dance is joining the cast of Tony-winning musical In the Heights, taking over the role of break-dancing street artist Graffiti Pete. Wingfield replaces longtime original cast member Seth Stewart beginning on August 25 at the Richard Rodgers Theatre.

Joining Wingfield on August 25 is returning original cast member Andrea Burns. The actress returns to the role of salon owner Daniela after a summer break. TV regular Justina Machado took over the part of Daniela during Burns’ six week hiatus.

Wingfield makes his Broadway debut with In the Heights. A protégé of dance heavyweight and Broadway veteran Debbie Allen, the dancer is best known for his run on the fourth season of reality competition series So You Think You Can Dance. Previously, Wingfield performed as a dancer and singer with Celine Dion.

In The Heights currently stars Janet Dacal, Robin De Jesús, Mandy Gonzalez, Marcy Harriell, Christopher Jackson, Priscilla Lopez, Olga Merediz, Javier Muñoz, Rick Negrón, and Elise Santora, leading a cast that features Tony Chiroldes, Dwayne Clark, Rosie Lani Fiedelman, Afra Hines, Marcus Paul James, Nina Lafarga, Doreen Montalvo, Eliseo Román, Gabrielle Ruiz, Luis Salgado, Kevin Santos, Michael Balderrama, Blanca Camacho, Stephanie Klemons, José-Luis Lopez, Antuan Raimone, Alejandra Reyes and Jon Rua.
