Tickets are now available for Love, Loss, and What I Wore. This intimate collection of stories by Nora Ephron and Delia Ephron, based on the bestselling book by Ilene Beckerman, begins performances at off-Broadway’s Westside Theatre on September 21. Opening night is set for October 1. Karen Carpenter directs a rotating all-star cast.
“The Vagina Monologues without the vaginas,” is how the Ephrons describe this theatrical event, which, like the book it is based on, uses clothing and accessories and the memories they trigger to tell funny and often poignant stories.
Among the stars set to be featured in the production are Samantha Bee, Kristin Chenoweth, Tyne Daly, Lucy DeVito, Katie Finneran, Rosie O’Donnell, Rhea Perlman, Mary Louise Wilson and Rita Wilson. The production will feature three different five-member casts that will perform the piece in four-week cycles.
A portion of the production’s proceeds will benefit Dress for Success, a charity that provides work clothing and job support for low-income women. Audience members will be invited to donate their gently used purses and other accessories in the theater lobby.
