Lucy Prebble’s Enron will transfer from London’s Royal Court Theatre to the West End. The production is also eyeing a Broadway run beginning in April 2010. Directed by Rupert Goold, the show stars Samuel West as Jeffrey Skilling, CFO of the Enron Corporation.
Enron is a theatrical take on one of the most infamous scandals in financial history. Mixing classical tragedy with savage comedy, it reviews the tumultuous 1990s and casts new light on the financial situation we find ourselves in today.
The production features set and costume design by Anthony Ward, lighting design by Mark Henderson, original music and sound design by Adam Cork and video and projection design by Jon Driscoll.
In addition to West, the Royal Court cast includes Gillian Budd, Peter Caulfield, Howard Charles, Andrew Corbett, Amanda Drew, Susannah Fellows, Stephen Fewell, Tom Godwin, Tom Goodman-Hill, Orion Lee, Eleanor Matsuura, Tim Pigott-Smith, Ashley Rolfe and Trevor White.
The production, which originated at the Chichester Festival, will play the Royal Court from September 17 through November 7. The engagement is already sold-out. The transfer is expected to land at the West End's Apollo Theatre in the winter. Dates and additional details are still to be announced.
