Following her debut engagement this past spring, three-time Tony Award nominee Kelli O’Hara will return to Cafe Carlyle for a two-week run of cabaret performances. The show will play September 15 through 26, acting as a perfect warmup for the star’s return to the Tony-winning revival of South Pacific on October 13. O’Hara departed the lead role of Ensign Nellie Forbush in March to go on maternity leave and gave birth to son Owen James Naughton on June 27.
O’Hara first played to Carlyle audiences during a two-week engagement, March 31-April 11, 2009. Her show included Broadway standards such as “That’s How I Say Goodbye,” “Hey There” and “I’m in Love with a Wonderful Guy,” as well as originals like “Opera-Country.”
O’Hara received Tony Award nominations for her last three critically acclaimed performances in The Light in the Piazza, The Pajama Game and South Pacific. Other Broadway credits include Jekyll and Hyde, Sweet Smell of Success, Follies and Dracula, the Musical. Last year, she released her first solo CD, Wonder in the World, on Ghostlight Records.
