Original Rent star Anthony Rapp will take his solo show Without You to Joe's Pub for an intimate, one-night-only engagement on September 29. The show, written by Rapp and directed by Steven Maler, begins at 7pm.
Without You is based off Rapp's memoir Without You: A Memoir of Love, Loss and the Musical Rent, which deals with the actor's behind-the-scenes and onstage experience with the Broadway musical phenomenon Rent, as well as his relationship with his mother during his major career milestone. The show features several of Rapp's own compositions, as well as songs from Rent.
Rapp originated the role of Mark in the orginial Broadway production of Rent. Additional Broadway credits include Precious Sons, Six Degrees of Separation, You're a Good Man Charlie Brown and The 24 Hour Plays 2005. Off-Broadway, he has been seen in Trafficing in Broken Hearts, Raised in Captivity, Rent, Private Jokes Public Places, Spalding Gray: Stories Left to Tell and Some Americans Abroad. Screen credits include Dazed and Confused, Road Trip, Cruise Control, A Beautiful Mind, Open House, Rent and Blackbird.
