Broadway Impact, a grassroots organization created to rally the theater community to get involved in the fight for gay marriage, has made a lot of waves in the past few months. Now, they’re focused to getting as many people as possible to Washington, D.C. on October 11, 2009 for the National Equality March.
Sutton Foster, the Tony-winning star of Shrek the Musical, attended a Broadway Impact rally over the summer and was inspired to get more involved in the organization. Although she can’t attend the march herself (she’ll be playing Princess Fiona for two performances that day), she decided to sponsor a bus to help bring people to capital for the big day. Joining her in sponsoring buses are Gavin Creel (who will attend the march with his Hair co-stars), Wicked producer David Stone and Broadway.com.
Watch the video below to hear more about Sutton’s thoughts about the cause.
