Idiot Alert: Green Day Musical Hits Local Airwaves

If you’re at all like us, you’re ridiculously excited about Berkeley Rep’s stage version of Green Day’s American Idiot. Luckily, we’ve been getting little tastes from the Left Coast, first in the form of photos and now, video. A local ABC station hit up the new musical’s opening night to chat with Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong and Tre Cool as well as director Michael Mayer about how the musical came about. Don’t worry, it’s not all chitter-chatter. There’s tastes of the hot young cast, headed by John Gallagher Jr., rocking the title track and a bunch of other recognizable tunes, too. Check it out!
