A teary Kristin Chenoweth accepted an Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series at the 61st Annual Primetime Emmys in Los Angeles on September 20 for her work on the canceled series Pushing Daisies.
"I'm unemployed so I'd like to be on Mad Men and also The Office and 24," joked Chenoweth, who attended the ceremony with good friend and fellow Broadway star Erin Dilly.
Chenoweth played Olive Snook on Pushing Daisies, having previously received an Emmy nomination in 2008 for her work on the show. She won a Tony Award in 1999 for You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown and was also nominated for Wicked in 2004. Other Broadway credits include Steel Pier, Epic Proportions and The Apple Tree.
On TV, she's been seen on her short-lived sitcom Kristin, The West Wing and the TV-movie versions of Annie and The Music Man. She will next be seen as a guest judge on American Idol and guest star on the new ABC series Glee. Big screen credits include RV, Stranger than Fiction, Running with Scissors, Deck the Halls and Four Christmases.
Also nominated in Chenoweth's category were Jane Krakowski (30 Rock), Elizabeth Perkins (Weeds), Amy Poehler (Saturday Night Live), Kristen Wiig (Saturday Night Live) and Vanessa Williams Ugly Betty).
