Next to Normal Star Aaron Tveit Headed Back to TV's Gossip Girl

Next to Normal star Aaron Tveit is returning to TV's Gossip Girl this season, according to Entertainment Weekly. Columnist Michael Ausiello says the actor will reprise his role of Tripp Vanderbilt, which he first played for two episodes earlier this year.

Tripp is the wealthy cousin of Nate Archibald, played by Chace Crawford. In the upcoming story arc, reported to last for at least six episodes and start in November, the politically-minded Tripp will announce plans to run for office and Nate will help with the campaign.

Tveit plays Gabe in the Tony-winning Broadway musical Next to Normal. He made his Broadway debut as Link Larkin in Hairspray in 2006 and has also played Fiyero in Wicked and Frank Abagnale Jr. during the recent out-of-town tryout of the new musical Catch Me If You Can. He will be featured in the upcoming film Howl and has also been seen in Ghost Town.

Tveit will continue to star in Next to Normal while filming Gossip Girl.
