Philadelphia native Jarrod Spector, who is currently starring as Frankie Valli in the Broadway production of Jersey Boys, will perform the National Anthem prior to the playoff game between the Philadelphia Phillies and the Colorado Rockies on October 8 at Citizens Bank Park. The game begins at 2:30 PM, and Spector is expected back in New York to appear in the evening performance of the hit musical at the August Wilson Theatre.
Jersey Boys is the winner of the 2006 Best Musical Tony Award, the 2006 Grammy Award for Best Musical Show Album, and most recently, the 2009 Olivier Award for Best New Musical. Directed by Des McAnuff, the musical biography of the Four Seasons features a book by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, music by Bob Gaudio and lyrics by Bob Crewe.
