“An oldie but a goodie” might be something of an understatement when it comes to Bye Bye Birdie, the classic 1950s-themed rock hit which is officially back on Broadway. Need proof? How about stars like Howard Stern, Tony-winner Boyd Gaines, Mad Men’s Bryan Batt, Law & Order’s Stephanie March, Entourage’s Perrey Reeves and more, all hitting the red carpet (in the pouring rain) as first-night fans for the show’s October 15 opening. Not that there wasn’t enough star power onstage. John Stamos, Gina Gershon, Bill Irwin, Matt Doyle and rising stars like Allie Trimm are all back on the boards for this stage favorite—and they’re also on-camera with Broadway.com, talking up the sweet Robert Longbottom-helmed musical with the even sweeter score. Check out our video coverage of the Bye Bye Birdie revival that’s been 50 years in the making.
