Tyne Daly to Star in Master Class at the Kennedy Center

Tyne Daly, who is currently appearing off-Broadway in Love, Loss and What I Wore, is set to play Maria Callas in Terrence McNally's Master Class at the Kennedy Center, according to Variety. Stephen Wadsworth will direct the production, which will play from March 25 through April 18.

Daly won a 1990 Tony Award for Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Musical for Gypsy. Her other Broadway credits include The Seagull and Rabbit Hole. She is the winner of six Emmy Awards—four for her work on TV's Cagney & Lacey, one for Christy and one for Judging Amy.

Master Class will be presented at part of the Kennedy Center’s five-week festival of McNally’s works, which will run concurrently on three stages. Also included in the festival will be The Lisbon Traviata, directed by Christopher Ashley (March 20-April 11) and Golden Age, a new play (March 12-April 4).
