The casting directors for the Broadway productions of Billy Elliot, God of Carnage and All My Sons were among the winners of the Casting Society of America’s New York Artios Awards, presented on November 2 at the Times Center. Janeane Garofalo hosted the 25th annual event, with guest presenters that included Christine Ebersole, Patrick Wilson and Bill Pullman. In addition, Stanley Tucci presented the New York Big Apple Award to Nora and Delia Ephron, whose new theatrical production Love, Loss and What I Wore opened off-Broadway on October 1 featuring ever-evolving casts.
Presented yearly for outstanding achievement in casting, awards are given on the criteria of originality, creativity and contribution of casting to the overall quality of a project. The term “Artios” is from the ancient Greek word meaning “perfectly fitted.”
