Cabaret great Michael Feinstein has set dates for his previously announced return to Broadway, All About Me. The show, which will feature a small orchestra accompanying Feinstein as he performs a program of standards, will begin previews on March 13 and open on March 30 at a Shubert theater to be announced.
Feinstein issued a statement “to clear up confusion” between his concert evening and the similarly titled upcoming show It’s All About Me starring Barry Humphries as Dame Edna Everage: “While I was very surprised to learn of the similarity of titles, I’ve always been a fan of Dame Edna, and I wish her all the best.”
Feinstein last appeared on Broadway in 1990's Michael Feinstein in Concert: Piano and Voice. Previous Broadway redits include 1988's Isn't it Romantic and Michael Feinstein in Concert, and he served as a musical consultant on the 1983 hit My One and Only. Feinstein's numerous albums include Live at the Algonquin, Remember, Isn't it Romantic, and Over There, all of which feature his signature interpretations of American and Broadway songbook standards. The singer founded the nightclub Feinstein's at the Regency, where he recently performed evenings of duets with Finian’s Rainbow star Cheyenne Jackson and Tony winner Christine Ebersole. His latest CD, The Sinatra Project, garnered his fifth Grammy Award nomination.
All About Me will be produced by Jeffrey Richards and Jerry Frankel. The design team will be announced shortly.
