Dates have been set for Keen Company’s previously announced revival of Robert Anderson’s I Never Sang for My Father starring Keir Dullea. The production, presented in association with Wiltsie Bridge Productions, will run March 23-May 1, 2010, directed by Jonathan Silverstein. No further casting has been announced.
I Never Sang for My Father explores one son’s struggle to balance his own happiness with the needs of his aging parents, and his yearning for a closer relationship with the father he cannot change. Gene Garrsion is a grown man with a successful career, but when his parents arrive for a visit, he finds himself in that awkward position of feeling like a child again. When tragedy strikes, Gene is forced to examine his responsibility to himself and his family in new ways.
Best known for playing astronaut David Bowman in the 1968 film 2001, A Space Odyssey and in the 1984 sequel 2010, The Year We Make Contact, Dullea most recently appeared on the New York stage in the Vineyard Theatre’s 2007 revival of Mary Rose. His Broadway credits include Dr. Cook's Garden, Butterflies Are Free, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and P. S. Your Cat Is Dead!. In 1983, he co-founded the Theater Artists Workshop of Westport alongside his wife Susie Fuller.
