Ruthie Henshall and Bonnie Langford will return to the West End cast of hit musical Chicago, reprising their shared credit as Roxie Hart. Henshall will begin performances at The Cambridge Theatre beginning December 14, running through February 28, 2010. Langford, arriving direct from her recent stint in the Broadway production, will appear at select performances December 28 through January 2, taking over while Henshall fulfills previous commitments during her run. The production also welcomes Terra C. MacLeod, who begins her London stage debut as Velma Kelly, on December 14.
Henshall, Langford and MacLeod join Ian Kelsey (Billy Flynn) and David Ganly (Amos Hart).
Henshall’s West End credits include Marguerite, Oliver!, Les Miserables, Crazy for You, Chicago, Miss Saigon and Cats. On Broadway she has been seen in Follies, Chicago, Miss Saigon and Putting it Together. Film and TV credits include A Christmas Carol, Law and Order and Mysteries of 71st Street.
Langford’s Broadway credits include Gypsy and, most recently, Chicago. West End credits include Me and My Girl, Cats and The Pirates of Penzance. A television regular of series including The Hot Shoe Show, Just William and Doctor Who, Langford was also a favorite on the reality TV show Dancing on Ice.
MacLeod originated the role of Velma in the French production of Chicago, appearing in both Montreal and Paris.
Chicago opened at the Adelphi Theatre on November 18, 1997, to rave reviews and immediately became a sell-out hit, winning the 1998 Laurence Olivier Award for Outstanding Musical Production. The show transferred from the Adelphi Theatre to the Cambridge Theatre in April 2006, where it has recently celebrated 5000 performances in the West End.
