Some openings are truly an event, and David Mamet’s Race certainly qualifies for this category. The iconic playwright opened his new work at Broadway’s Ethel Barrymore Theatre on December 6 to a sea of starry faces. Directed by the author, the play stars James Spader, David Alan Grier, Kerry Washington and Richard Thomas in a show that never shies away from its touchy subject matter. After the performance, the cast headed to the Redeye Grill to rub shoulders with the celebs who were on hand to cheer the bold new work.
