First we had news that a Broadway revival would “Soon” take the Broadway stage, and “Now” we’ve finally got the real thing—a star-studded production of the 1973 Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler hit, A Little Night Music. By now, of course, you know the details: Academy Award winner Catherine Zeta-Jones is making her Broadway debut in the coveted role of Desiree Armfeldt, backed by five-time Tony Award winner Angela Lansbury and West End regular Alexander Hanson. Toss in a few Broadway veterans like Aaron Lazar, Erin Davie and Leigh Ann Larkin, newcomers like Hunter Ryan Herdlicka and Ramona Mallory and a supporting cast of soaring voices, and it’s no wonder the Trevor Nunn-helmed production was packing in fans and celebrity ticketholders on its December 13 opening night. Once the applause died down, the cast, crew and an impressive entourage headed to NYC’s Tavern on the Green for a glamorous opening night bash. We’ve got photos of every Night Music liaison you could ever wish for, so click through for a front row seat to the major stage event.
