Casting is now complete for the forthcoming Broadway revival of William Gibson’s The Miracle Worker, starring Oscar nominee Abigail Breslin as Helen Keller and Tony nominee Alison Pill as Annie Sullivan. The play will begin previews at Circle in the Square on February 12 and open on March 3, directed by Kate Whoriskey.
Joining Breslin, Pill and previously announced headliners Matthew Modine (Captain Keller), Jennifer Morrison (Kate Keller) and Elizabeth Franz (Aunt Ev) will be Tobias Segal (From Up Here, Doris to Darlene, Bridge Project’s The Cherry Orchard and Winter’s Tale) as James, Daniel Oreskes (Billy Elliot, A Midsummer Night’s Dream) as Doctor/Anagnos, Michael Cummings (Joe Turner’s Come and Gone, Emancipation) as Percy, Simone Joy Jones as Martha, Yvette Ganier (Gem of the Ocean, Jitney) as Viney and Lance Chantiles-Wertz (The Widowing of Mrs. Holroyd) as Jimmie.
The Broadway revival celebrates the 50th anniversary of the original opening of the Tony Award-winning play, the story of blind and deaf Medal of Freedom winner Helen Keller, who suddenly lost her sight and hearing at age 19 months, and the extraordinary teacher who taught her to communicate with the world.
The Miracle Worker is produced by David Richenthal, Eric Falkenstein and Randall Wreghitt.
