Hair cast member Andrew Kober will make his New York concert debut at Joe’s Pub on February 15 with a solo show titled Koberet. The 11:30 PM performance will directly follow a 9:30 PM concert by Kober’s Hair castmates Caissie Levy and Kacie Sheik. Koberet, presented as part of Sh-K-Boom & Ghostlight Records’ ongoing concert series, is directed by David Ruttura, with musical direction by Matt Hinkley.
As previously seen by about 100 Ohioans in the auditorium of Shaker Heights High, Koberet is described as "an even more self-indulgent version of the phenomenon that took the Midwest by storm eight years ago. In it, Broadway's most famous hetero drag queen muses on his life so far...because no one else will."
Well-known in the New York theater community for his Twitter following (he even offered a tweeting tutorial for Broadway.com readers!), Kober has launched an online contest to choose one song for the Joe’s Pub concert. The choices include “In the Heights,” “Party in the USA,” “And I Am Telling You (I’m Not Going),” “Let’s Stay Together” and “A Song for You.”
In addition to Hair, Kober has appeared in the first national tour of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.
