Idina Menzel & Matthew Morrison to Get Hot and Heavy on Glee

Looks like Broadway babies Idina Menzel and Matthew Morrison are going to get hot and heavy on Glee this spring. Series co-creator Brad Falchuk told Zap2it.com that the Menzel has already started filming her role as leader of a rival glee club, and that she and Morrison had a "big makeout scene" on the first day of filming.

"She and Matt had an immediate chemistry," Falchuk said. "She was fun to work with, fun to direct."

Although they've both been regulars on the Broadway scene since the late-1990s, Menzel and Morrison have never appeared in a show together. Menzel earned a Tony nomination in the original cast of Rent (later appearing in the film version), starred as Amneris in Aida and became a musical theater icon for her Tony-winning role as Elphaba in Wicked. After appearing in the ensemble of Footloose and The Rocky Horror Show, Morrison starred as Link Larkin in the original cast of Hairspray, Fabrizio Naccarelli in The Light in the Piazza (Tony nomination) and Lieutenant Cable in South Pacific before becoming a regular on Glee.

The sexy scene will be revealed when Glee returns to Fox on April 13, 2010.
