Broadway vet Robert Cuccioli will headline Nine at the Westchester Broadway Theatre in Elmsford, New York. Performances for the production will begin on February 18 and run through April 24.
Cuccioli is best known for his Tony Award-nominated performance in the title roles of Jekyll & Hyde. He also appeared on Broadway in Les Miserables. His off-Broadway credits include Jacques Brel Is Alive and Living in Paris, And the World Goes 'Round and The Rothschilds.
Nine, which is enjoying renewed interest thanks to director Rob Marshall’s recently released movie musical version, features a book by Arthur Kopit and music and lyrics by Maury Yeston. Yeston wrote three new songs for the film ("Guarda La Luna," "Take It All" and "Cinema Italiano"); WBT will use songs from the film version, though it has not yet announced which numbers will be included.
Additional casting is still to be announced.
